Environment

Environment

Agility Logistics Parks

Environment

  • Saudi Arabia and Cote D’Ivoire logistics parks received first EDGE Advanced green building certification for warehousing facilities in MENA and West Africa; demonstrating at least 40% more energy efficiency relative to market. 
  • In India, installation works have started for a 1 MW solar plant at ALP’s warehouse in Bangalore. This will be Agility’s third warehouse in India with a solar plant.   
  • Installed a water treatment plant on site in Mozambique where site soil conditions do not allow for traditional sewage systems and the cost of operating septic tanks is highThe plant will clean up to 20,000 liters of sewage per day.  
  • 20-30% of building materials are sourced regionally for most new projects. 

Social

  • 0 fatalities or high consequence injuries reported in 2023. 
  • Trains 100% of employees in fair labor, and each operation conducts an annual assessment of its human rights and fair labor risks. 
  • Fosters local talent and hiring through training and “local jobs first” initiatives. This includes a program to connect customers to community leaders to encourage local hiring.

  • Vocational training and digital skills training for young people in Cote D’Ivoire, Ghana, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and other locations.

Alliad

Environment

  • The company regularly engages with suppliers, local communities and other stakeholders to implement best practice and protect water resources, and aims to set water consumption targets by early 2024.

  • Rigorous approach to supplier due diligence helps ensure the protection of human rights and fair labor practices across its supply chain. 
  • Partnership with Evolvin’ Women — a social enterprise supporting women who lack access to employment opportunities due to personal, political, or cultural circumstances.

Governance

  • Sustainability team leads ESG programs, sets goals and reports progress to Executive management. 
  • Supplier contracts include targets for local employment and procurement, including food for camp catering.  
  • Suppliers must sign the company’s Fair Labor and Ethics Codes of Conduct.  

Shipa Companies

  • Shipa Ecommerce has a proprietary application to manage supplier and customer emissions reporting. 
  • Shipa Ecommerce is partnering with a specialist waste management firm to recycle and refurbish undelivered packages. 
  • Shipa Freight is partnering with an emissions calculation platform to enable customers to understand and mitigate delivery carbon footprint. 
  • Shipa Delivery transitioned to biodegradable pouches for document delivery to reduce plastic use, and also developed and implemented a route optimization tool to enhance delivery efficiency, reducing carbon emissions 
  • Shipa Delivery is partnering with a major customer to introduce hybrid vehicles in Kuwait for last mile deliveries.
