Aviation’s Service, Safety and Sustainability Pioneer
Agility acquired Menzies Aviation in 2022 as the global aviation industry was reeling from its largest shock since World War II. The COVID pandemic that began in 2020 devastated every part of the aviation value chain except air cargo and triggered a 66% drop in global revenue passenger kilometers. Skiles have brightened for Menzies ever since, especially since it became part of Agility Global in 2024.
Menzies, founded in 1833, had a rich heritage in a variety of businesses. But by 2018, it specialized exclusively in aviation, delivering ground handling, cargo management, aircraft fueling and other services to airline customers at leading airports around the world.
Agility saw Menzies as the ideal merger partner for NAS, the aviation services provider started by Agility in Kuwait in 2003. NAS’s goal was to bring European and North American safety and service standards to commercial aviation in emerging markets countries. By the time Agility acquired Menzies, NAS had established itself in 22 countries across Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
Today, the combined company operates as Menzies and is an industry powerhouse: the world’s largest aviation services provider by number of countries. Its workforce of 45,000+ operates at 290+ airports in 65+ countries in Europe, the Americas, Asia/Oceania, the Middle East and Africa.
At Agility Global, we believe air transport accelerates economic growth by generating trade, tourism and jobs. It connects the world and helps build prosperity. If aviation were a country, it would be the 17th largest economy in the world. That’s why our goal is to expand Menzies’ footprint responsibly and sustainably.
Menzies is positioned to bring added efficiency to aviation operations in mature markets, and deliver best safety and service practices to emerging aviation markets with growth potential. It invests in people and technology so that airplanes are safer and cleaner, bags and cargo are handled efficiently, fuel is managed safely, and passenger experience is better at check-in, in the terminal and at lounges.
Menzies is looking to the future. It is at the forefront of industry efforts to reduce environmental impact, green its ground fleet, and build the infrastructure and processes required to support conversion to low-carbon sustainable aviation fuels.
At Menzies, there are bright skies ahead.
